Special Occasions

If you’re anything like us, you find it more and more difficult to think of something to buy for that special someone be it for a birthday, Christmas, anniversary etc

And when it’s a big one, a 21st, 40th, 50th or other special occasion it’s even more of a challenge!

There’s a bit of a shift going on now, people are starting to buy less ‘stuff” and going for experiences that make memories instead. Below you’ll find an idea of a road trip that could make that special occasion one to remember for always:

Do we know someone who’s a classic car nut? Anyone in family love their History or Literature? If so how about this for a birthday road trip:

Day 1

Pick your camper up from us on the Saturday and head down the M3 to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu If you’ve time have a look around Palace House. Overnight in the New Forest Area

Day 2

Pick up the A303 and make your way to the Haynes Motor Museum near Yeovil it’s a cracking day out. Right opposite is The Fleet Air Arm Museum it’s brilliant and there’s a Concorde there that you can get on and have a look around. Overnight in Somerset.

Day 3

Before you head over to the M5, as you are only 20 miles from Golds Hill in Shaftesbury (anyone as old as me will know this as the cobbled hill from the Hovis advert) it would be rude not to pop in to this lovely old town, grab a coffee and have a stroll down the famous cobbled hill.

Now get on to the M5 North and make your way up to the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire. Here you’ll find the worlds largest collection of Historic British cars. Overnight close to Stratford Upon Avon.

Day 4

Why not spend the day in Stratford Upon Avon? Here you’ll find Shakespeare’s house and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, take a boat ride up the River Avon and enjoy the day in this beautiful Medieval market town.

Day 5

Head the 20 miles or so to Coventry and you will find the Coventry Transport Museum (Note, as this is in the City Centre if you’re in the Big Motorhome you’re better off taking the Park and Ride in to the City). Theres plenty to do in an around Coventry to keep you busy for the day. Overnight near Oxford

Day 6

Only an hour from Coventry is the simply stunning City of Oxford, steeped in History you can just spend the day roaming it’s cobbled streets and imagine Morse driving around there in his Mk11 Jag! Overnight in Kent.

Day 7

It’s time to come back now and as you chose to overnight in Kent there’s no rushing and no traffic (hopefully).

Have you’re last fry up reflect on your week and just how much you’ve seen and done and all those memories you’ve made.

Keep an eye on this page as throughout the year we will be posting more ideas of Road trips that might float your boat.
