Cost – We have campers to suit all budgets. There are places that will charge you close to £1000 per week high season and in our opinion that’s just too much.
We appreciate that classic VW campervans are expensive to buy and need constant care but we were adamant that we would have a range of vehicles that would suit most budgets.
School Holidays – Being parents we were also sick to death of holiday companies stinging us every time the schools closed for holidays, that’s not the right thing to do so we don’t do it and will never do it. Our prices are the same from June 1st right through to the start of September. Similarly our prices dont mysteriously go up every time there’s a bank holiday or major festival.
Under 25 year olds – How soul destroying is it to get really excited about a campervan holiday, choose your van, get to the end of the process only to see that as you’re under 25 you can’t go on holiday! You may have held a full licence for seven years, drive a brand new Merc, be married and have kids but “computer says no”. This is just daft, we searched long and hard to find a quality insurer who would let us hire out our vans to people 23 and over.
We Don’t ask for a £500 Refundable Security Deposit – Another huge outlay that practically every hirer of campervans charges. This is to cover any damage you may do or the excess if the company needs to make an insurance claim. Admittedly you get this back at the end of the holiday but what if you just dont have £500? Maybe that’s your petrol and spending money for the week? We have decided we won’t charge this. Why create a policy to protect ourselves against the 1% who may ill treat our campervans as opposed to the 99% of people who won’t? Most customers look after our vans as though they are their own anyway!
So, in a nut shell that’s what Mr Campervan is all about. We are who we are and have decided to build our business putting the customer at the centre of all we do. So choose a campervan, break from the norm and come and have some good old retro fun with Mr Campervan.
